Smart Navigation for Smarter Shopping
Home Depot Navigator is a retail experience concept designed to ease the frustrations of navigating Home Depot. It combines physical hardware with a touchscreen interface, barcode scanner, and intelligent UI to assist users in product discovery, wayfinding, and quick ordering. Mounted on a shopping cart handle, this tool offers real-time product info, detailed specs, and personalized recommendations—making the in-store journey more intuitive and less overwhelming.
Takeaways:During the Home Depot Navigator project, my goal was to make shopping at Home Depot more intuitive and enjoyable through a blend of thoughtful design and smart technology. By integrating physical components, a digital interface, and user-centered UX, I built a working prototype that simplified decision-making and streamlined the shopping experience. User research played a key role, though I realized the process could’ve benefited from more iterative testing and real-time feedback. Still, the outcome was a practical and engaging solution that tackled real shopper pain points.
