Convexity

Understanding form in relationship with space

The convexity looks to further explore how to deal with the gesture of a volumetric form and its surface moments. Students sketch with plasticine and hand dynamic forms that push space around them, always looking for a form that generates interest as they move around it. Each piece is carved out of a solid block of plaster, allowing the students to refine their hand-eye coordination and learn how subtle changes in form affect their perception.
