Experience

I’ve had three key roles in my UX/UI design career.

As Head of Design at Outpave, I led a full overhaul of their desktop and mobile apps, creating user-centered interfaces for expense management.

As CEO and Director at Aztro Marketplace, I built a multi-customer platform that introduced international design brands to the U.S. market, with a strong focus on user needs, conversion, and operational efficiency.

And Lead Designer at Paperplane, I guided and collaborated with a diverse team to deliver responsive designs tailored to a wide range of clients—balancing business goals, creative appeal, and innovation.

Project 1

Outpave, Inc.

Outpave, Inc. / Expense Management SaaS Platform

Outpave launched in late 2024 as an expense management platform for small businesses. It offers desktop and mobile apps that let teams issue pre-funded credit cards with custom limits and spending categories.

Transactions are automatically captured and organized, removing the need for manual receipt tracking. With real-time budget monitoring, Outpave simplifies and streamlines expense control for growing teams.

Expense Management App

Designing a dashboard to easily manage users, transactions, credit cards, and expenses.

Since the desktop app was geared toward business owners, we focused on building trust and clarity in expense tracking. We introduced intelligent presets, automations, and customization tools that let users shift from micromanaging to simply reviewing transactions.

Our UX process involved rapid iteration in Figma and internal testing, with structured user group sessions for validating complex workflows.

Mobile App

Capturing and Managing Assets

The mobile app started as a simple tool for scanning and managing receipts, but quickly evolved into a robust asset management solution—handling receipts, invoices, cards, and expense allocations. By automating data capture and organization, it reduced operational overhead and ensured compliance. The result: a streamlined, audit-ready platform for teams to manage expenses on the go.

IMPACT

Over a year, I led the launch of Outpave’s desktop app, collaborating with a small local engineering team to build a cohesive system for managing transactions and user accounts. In parallel, I guided the mobile app through multiple sprints with overseas developers, launching it in just seven months. Through continuous testing, we delivered a scalable platform that still supports cohesive feature growth for an expanding user base.

Project 2

Aztro Marketplace, Inc.

Facilitating wholesale in the U.S. to international brands

Aztro launched in the U.S. in late 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a mission to lower the cost and risk for international brands entering the U.S. wholesale market.

The Problem:
For brands in categories like leather goods, home décor, and accessories, breaking into the U.S. market typically meant attending expensive trade shows—requiring travel, inventory shipping, booth fees, and upfront investment for uncertain returns.

Our Solution:
Aztro was a curated, design-focused wholesale marketplace for high-end boutiques. We represented international brands at no upfront cost to them or retailers, operating instead on a commission-only model—earning only when orders were placed.

Over the course of two years, Aztro represented more than 110 brands and facilitated over half a million dollars in sales.

Metrics Driven Design

Data driven design

We track user behavior via Google Analytics, focusing on metrics like page views, conversion rates, bounce rates, and time on page. By analyzing traffic from social media and ad campaigns, we continuously refined our landing pages—launching six data-driven iterations over two years. Each version improved performance, ultimately driving measurable growth.

Communicating Brands Vision

Visual Storytelling

Our goal was to go beyond simply showcasing products—to elevate each brand’s story and celebrate the craftsmanship behind their work. This involved managing a wide range of brand assets, including policies, shipping terms, videos, catalogs, line sheets, and lookbooks. Through multiple iterations and wireframes, we refined each brand’s homepage into a space where their identity could truly shine.

Customer Centered Products

Building trust through problem solving

We partnered closely with retailers and trade partners to improve our product offerings. To address key pain points, we launched the "Personal Shopper" program—helping stores and designers find products based on budget, timeline, and occasion. This personalized approach increased sales by 18% in two months.

We also introduced a survey to collect client preferences, allowing our team to create custom wishlists and lookbooks. This strengthened relationships and boosted conversions.

IMPACT

At Aztro Marketplace, I led the platform’s development as both CEO and UX Director, working closely with programmers to bring a clear design vision to life. I focused on crafting seamless user flows, intuitive navigation, and visually compelling experiences that drove engagement. By combining innovative product offerings with smart UX strategies, we boosted conversion rates and positioned Aztro as a destination for curated, design-forward shopping.

The Search for the Right Home

Scope

Consuelo de la Vega is a premium real estate agency based in Bogotá, Colombia. The client aimed to serve the luxury market by enhancing user experience, particularly by streamlining the process of scheduling appointments with agents.

Defining
Priorities

We ran a card sorting exercise with 20 prospective buyers to identify which home features users value most. Using Google Forms, we ranked and categorized key listing attributes, directly informing the site’s structure. This research helped guide property display decisions and provided data-backed support when aligning or challenging client preferences—such as emphasizing or de-prioritizing recreational areas.

Defining the Visual Hierarchy of Key Values

Dynamic Search

Since location ranked as the most important factor in our research, we gave it a central role in the experience. We found that users preferred visually exploring neighborhoods through maps rather than relying on written addresses. As a result, the map became a primary tool for filtering and discovering listings by location.

IMPACT

I led the UX strategy for this real estate platform, using targeted user research and data analysis to define a filtering system that aligned with how buyers prioritize listings. My dual perspective—as both designer and active homebuyer—helped translate real-world insights into a dynamic UI tailored to the Colombian market. The modular design system I developed emphasized key decision drivers like images, location, and price, and has since scaled to support pre-construction listings. My approach proved both intuitive and adaptable, driving clarity and usability across the platform.
